Dr. Gianina Soto (DMD)

Clinical Director & Owner

Dr. Gianina Soto is a second generation oral dental surgeon, clinical medical director and practice owner celebrating over 45 years of family oriented dentistry. Dr. Soto began her carreer early in life while working alongside her mother´s dental practice in downtown San Jose initially as a receptionist, then later as a dental sterilization technician, and afterwards as a dental assistant, long before ever graduating and becoming licenced to practice dentistry herself.

Early after gaining the first-hand experience and know-how of working at her mother’s dental office, Dr. Soto decided to follow in her footsteps and also pursue a carreer in dental medicine by attending the Faculty School of Dentistry at the University of Costa Rica and has ever since been living and practicing her life-long dream of providing compassionate, holistic and biological dental care to a worthy and loyal community of International health seekers in a uniquely heart centered way.

Long before solemnly pledging the hippocratic oath, Dr. Soto had realized the intangible value that mother nature has for every living being on the planet and has long since been an early adopter, advocate and defender for all living creatures freedoms and protections through practicing a whole food, plant based appraoch to non-violance in action, mothering a vegan family of 3 and refusing to use the bone grafting material derived from the marrow of the “holy and sacred cow”, and has since been sharing her ethical and moral opposition to any action that willingly and knowingly exploits any animal and the environment since the early beginnings of her career.

Dr. Soto has worked and studied alongside and under the great Dr. Runar D. Johnson (D.D.S.), who is an American pioneer in providing an alternative approach to dental care since the mid 1990s. The currently retired Dr. Johnson (85 years old, born in 1938) is Board Certified from the American College of Medicine’s School of Integrative Biological Dentistry as a Naturopathic Physician and was an early adopter, advocate and pioneer for the use of oxygen ozone therapy in holistic dentistry.

Dr. Gianina Soto is one of a few dentist’s in Costa Rica with a passion for living in harmony with mother nature and has been helping patients embrace a whole-food, plant-based diet for over 20 years. Dr. Soto’s mission in life is to help people make the transition from non-harmonious lifestyles into more holistic ones. Today, Dr. Soto primarily serves as the chief clinical practice director for both dental office’s located along the north and south pacific coasts of Costa Rica.
